I have had this little guy for a week now and thought I would share some pics. I have always wanted one so I finally took the plunge. I couldn't be happier and I'm excited to watch it grow.
N. aristolochioides

Awww cute!! It makes the most adorable little pitchers

Awesome little plant, and yes do keep us updated.

I have been sort of experimenting with this aristo and a jacq in normal household conditions and here are the results I have gotten so far. The jacq took things pretty bad at first but she may just be coming out of it. I got the aristo later and while it didn't show any dramatic symptoms at first I think it is still in a bit of a rut due to the low humidity. If anyone else has tried had sucess growing these in household conditions I would appreciate any knowledge you may have. If I can make a go of it with the aristo my goal is to get a hamata to grow in household conditions like elgecko's.

The first two are of jacq and the last of aristo

Very nice! aristolochioides is definitely one of the few Nepenthes still on my must-have list. I hope yours can grow in the household environment. I have seen many nice neps grown on windowsills, but honestly I can't recall seeing this species being grown that way. You may be in un-charted territory. Good luck!

Also, I don't have any personal experience one way or the other about this, because I grow using a terrarium, but from what I gather, N. hamata is supposedly much hardier and less demanding than either N. jacquelineae, or N. aristolochioides, who both collectively have the most difficult names to type of any Nepenthes. :D

lol I totally agree about jacq and aristo being some of the most difficult to type. I just abbreviate them to save time. I have also heard that hamata are fairly hardy, especially beyond a certain size. If I could find a decent priced hamata I would probably have gotten one already but the only place I see them anymore is ebay and they always go for crazy prices there.

Well the aristo is still settling in but I came home to this promising sign from the jacq. Hopefully the pitchers means (s)he is starting to get used to the conditions. It will be the first to successfully form in my care.
