If you ever have a cot for rent in your shade house, let me know. LOL.

I love the N x hachijo! And your raffs just made me want to get one again. They are one of the most beautiful nepenthes IMO.

Damon - always room for another Hoosier. If you (or any of the other bug bitter out there) make it to the island I would love to meet and talk story.

As for the rafflesiana, I agree; they are beautiful and there are just so many different varieties and color forms it will make your head spin. In a good way, or course...

The veitchii x platychila is interesting. It looks like it's tinted pink. I love maxima "dark", the Meadowview plant made a massive pitcher that we could stare at for hours. Nice raffs!

The veitchii x playchila is tinted pinkish yellow, it is a very difficult color to describe. I will be interested to see how the color changes as it gets bigger.

Something a little different today… I have had several folks ask me about where / how I grow my plants and what other types of plants grow well for me so I thought I would give you a plant tour of the Ellison residence. I hope you enjoy!

You can already see something might be amiss as you turn off the main road and into our little cul-de-sac.

A quick look behind the garage…

Along the side of the garage, a ponytail palm

    A patch of bromeliads

    Traveler Palms

Cacti / Succulent / bromeliad rack and shade house as you pull in the driveway

Air Plant hanging on the gate…

    Pond just inside the gate

    Right into the shade house

Inside the shade house looking out

    Some seedlings

Down the side of the garage

    Behind the garage

    A few orchids

    A lot of air plants

More air plants in the back yard

    Red Ginger

    Shrimp Plant

Nice pink rose (about the only one worth looking at at this time of the year)

Well. I suppose jealousy doesn't really even begin to describe my feelings about your place of residence.
