Truly incredible - thanks for sharing!

What elevation are you at & how much time do you spend watering?

Ron, I am at about 550 feet above sea level and spend about an hour and a half watering two to three times a week.

elevation is deceptive in Hawaii. Where Keith lives there is a convective cooling phenomenon. His neck of the woods is is the valley of two mountain ranges that provide cooling that would be not that much different than 200-300 feet elevation higher on other locations in Hawaii with out this cooling. Micro climates make all the difference here. Suspect that we see something similar even at high elevation and being on a flank of the huge mountain. cool air rushing down and the mountain losing heat rapidly on nights without clouds.

    Mach,

Thanks for the additional clarification. The microclimates are still something that amaze me whenever I am out and about here in Hawaii. If you move a mile in any direction here on Oahu (and I am sure the other islands as well) the climate change can be amazing.....
