Female ventricosa strutting her stuff . . .

Here is a shot from this afternoon of a female Nepenthes ventricosa flower, from a plant that I grew from a seedling on a windowsill back in 2004-05. It stopped "pitchering" and attempted to flower a few months back; the bloom aborted for some odd reason -- and the plant has since grown another 40 centimeters or so of vine and sent up a second stalk . . .

:-O Very Cool!

Nice, did you pollinate it at all?

i think if they are primed and ready to go they will keep on trying until they get a flower going. mine did 3 this past season. one the first may have dried a bit premature. the other 2 are still looking good.

No, I haven't had the chance, since none of my other plants are currently blooming; and I haven't checked with other growers for viable pollen . . .

You made the poor lass into a nun? :p

I might still have some male red vents blooming right now.....

I just had 3 males in bloom. I woulda been all over it. LOL

Awesome! I can't wait until my neps are old enough to flower!
