My small grow list
Wow congrats thag! Are these LL or HL truncata seeds?
unnnnngh.. so jealous.. truncatas are my favorite.
edit: double quadruple unnnnnnnggggh. Multiple people have baby truncatas.. gimme one!
Most likely LL truncata. Looking good, truncata is fairly slow species but given optimum conditions should move along nicely. Watch your moisture levels, don't want to be too wet now that they are growing, gradually start to wean them.
Nepenthes - hail to royalty
Thanks Crofthulhu. Well it will probably be two years before they are ready. I might trade with you one but that's a long time to wait. I'm sure someone else might have one to trade with you that's a safe size.
Nepenthes gracialis, it would be great if they were LL because those grow faster though I know all truncatas are slow. Oh, should I start to wean them off the humidity now? If you look at my first post they are in a divided tupper ware. What about the seeds in the compartment next door that haven't germinated yet? I don't know how I'd start to uncover them and leave the others covered. Any advice?
If you got them from the same person that i got mine from on the Big Island, his growing area is a relatively cool intermediate area so not full on LL.. ... Dunno it often has gotten me wondering about them as a friend on Maui has a huge one also growing in a mid elevation area and it is huge....
True Bugs really Suck
I have several seedling ventricosas germinated just over a year ago. Some are a couple inches wide now, which was faster than I expected. They can grow pretty quickly if potted up seperately and fertilized once they reach a more stable size (a cm or so wide for me).
Would love to get my hands on some more Nep seeds. I never knew growing them from seed could be so fun! It's satisfying watching them grow under your care from their inception for sure.
good luck with those

Rich, ventricosa grows pretty quick and truncata more slowly so it's probably going to take a little while longer for them to get a few inches. N. villosa takes forever though
