Fresh new pitcher just opened on 'First Light' - Spathulata x (Spectabilis x Veitchii)
Eymae x Ephippiata starting to color up and look more and more like it's Dad
just when I'm feeling a little bit unimpressed w St. Hedwig it comes up with a wonderful large Glowstick-like pitcher! This thing is seriously glowing next to my normal collection of dark pitchers.
everybody's favorite unknown hybrid aka 'Purple Haze' popping out another giant pitcher
'Blessed Isles' - (Spectabilis x Tobaica) x Sibuyanensis looking very truncata-esque, the leaves also are becoming more and more box shaped.
hope you enjoy,
After a few weeks this is how the pitchers on 'First Light' - Spathulata x (Spectabilis x Veitchii) look
St. Hedwig... so green. Awesome!
Thanks for sharing, that first light is incredible!
Incredible! I love your "purple haze"! It looks to me like the cross involves sanguinea and tobaica or something similar. I'd love to get my hands on that hybrid someday. The "glowstick" plant too is pretty amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Yeah, St. Glowstick is pretty darn nice right now; I might have to remake one of the famous Luminous ******* plants ;-) http://pitcherplants.proboards.com/thread/2926
My current theory on 'Purple Haze' is possibly Alata x Clipeata - I was looking through old photos from Sam's nursery and saw one that had the same shape, just less color, and was able to zoom in and check the label on the plant (gotta love high resolution photos!). Next time I'm down there I'll have to check out the rest of the grex and see if it's anything similar.
'Purple Haze' looks a whole lot like the sanguinea x ramispina hybrids I've seen. I have a mystery plant very much like it that I suspect is one of those hybrids, but it's more burgundy than purple.
Does St. Hedwig stay green? In all the photos I can find it appears to color up, which was disappointing because I have a thing for pure green nepenthes.
