The Nepenthes that I'm growing

Hey folks

I wanted to dump some nepenthes photos in here and hopefully get some tips from all the experienced growers out there.

I bought my first nep, a ventrata, about a year and a half ago. Intrigued, I starting buying other varieties last fall. Today I have roughly 20-25 different species/hybrids.

This first photo dump is mainly older photos. I have more current ones on my camera's memory card. I'll work on posting them later today.

Those are all very nice; thanks for sharing :)

Very nice. Are you sure that's x'Gothica' though ? Color and morphology looks all wrong, especially in the peristome.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not 100% dead sure its Gothica, no. I traded a local grower for it. I saw the plant before he chopped it up for cuttings, and the lower pitchers were relatively large and very Gothica like. He was under the impression that it was indeed gothica. The mother plant was fairly large, had a stem of several feet at least. I assumed the cutting I got was from the vining portion, hence the lanky growth and these upper pitchers.

Its possible that after he cut the plant up and by the time I got the cutting from him two months later that there was a mix up. Or maybe it wasn't gothica to begin with. What do you think?

Heres a few more pictures of it that I just scrounged up

i think this pic from the pitcher of the month thread resembles whatever im growing. (props to carbonetc, i hope its cool to quote your post from another thread) i should disclose that i traded for my exotic lady from the same grower a few months prior to getting this "gothica". Perhaps these uppers are exotic lady/lady pauline?

Newly opened upper pitcher of N. maxima dark x talangensis. For a plant that has lowers basically like Lady Pauline, it's a striking difference.

I like that N. Benevolence. Reminds me of tobaica with it's inner speckles. And isn't N. Exotic Lady a beast? I love that plant.

Beautiful, you've got some great neps. I love your ramispina, it's one of my favorite species out there.

heres a few more recent shots. i dont know all the ins and outs of how to properly write latin names and hybrids, so im just writing names in lowercase for now. i figure you'll probably get my drift.

x wrigleyana. these are all the same pitcher over a period of time

I believe your gothica is a lady pauline. My sibuyanensis x maxima produce pitchers that are a completely different shape

Hi Jawn,

The other Oregon/Washington growers and I get together from time to time to share plants, talk cps, and just hang out. We've held basically all of our "meetings" in Portland, so it would be great to see you at the next one.

Hey Mato, Thanks for the warm invite. I'm brand new to the area, haven't even lived here for a month yet. Needless to say, transporting all these plants on a 600 mile move was a hassle. I'll shoot you a pm to get some info :D

could you name this one its a beauty

and by the way all your neps look very well taken care of keep it up . if you have been at it for just a year , your doing something right:-D:-D

Thanks for the compliment :D These are pictures of the best moments during the last year. There have certainly been times where the plants don't look as nice. I believe that one is the super common Ventrata. Thats the biggest pitcher I've gotten it to produce. Sadly the plant is much too large for my grow area and it doesn't receive the attention it deserves anymore. I'm hoping to get it to make me another pretty pitcher like that soon.

Thanks for chiming in everyone :D

Very nice, Jawn. Really like the wrigleyana; it's nice to have a lowland fix every now and then.

Nice plants. Wish I'd bought a Barbarian when it was available :-(
Your Splendiana hybrid is a feller. Round buds indicate its a male.

thank you sir. my girlfriend says that all of all the pitchers ive grown, the barbarian is her favorite. definitely a head turner.

ive got some other plants with pitchers preparing to open. ill post pics when they look respectable.
