The only action I have received from the fuzzies is fungal growth on one seed. Otherwise, they all look like this:

They were all sown mid to late December 2012 and some received an 8 week stratification, some are on compost, and some have PGRs. I wanted to see some sprouts for my birthday, but to no avail. The 16 week mark is next week and I expect at least one sprout. Otherwise, I will have to break out flame boy and threaten..

Cephalotus seed can be a royal pain in the ****. I have had it germinate in as little as three weeks; and have also waited upwards of six months or more to see any signs of growth from the "fuzzies."

This thread is soooo ******* cool...I am fairly new to CP's, more new to this Forum but stuff like really trips my trigger. Thank you for sharing and providing the inspiration. I don't have access to equipment like you are using but I have hopes of being able to start small in my kitchen in the near future. I am a home school, stay at home Dad and I'd love to incorporate this into my boy's (10 & 13) curriculum this year.

    Naked Cephalotus Seeds
This batch took a few minutes, and quiet easy if you strip off the hairy coat like clothes.

One of the fastest seed to germinate in my hands at 19 days. This was part of an informal experiment on some Cephalotus follicularis seed that had the hairy follicle removed and given some stimulation. This was in hopes of a faster germination without a stratification period. The seed is well ahead of its stagnant brethren which were sown in late December and received a 90day cold stratification. They have yet to show any real indication of life....
