New Additions....

My four plant shipment from the Czech Republic is at the Post Office so tomorrow I make the pick-up. It's still a little early so if they are cold bit it's on me and PLEASE, I don't want to get into another discussion about ordering plants in the cold of winter!
I will post pictures tomorrow upon my return.

Nepenthes densiflora
Nepenthes diatas
Nepenthes singalana 'Belirang'
Nepenthes singalana 'Tujuh'

Congrats on the new plants!

Thank you, I am looking forward to growing both varieties of singalana for comparison sake. It won't be long before I will be moving the high altitude plants to the fridge rather than the cold room cooled by nature. I am learning a lot as I go and figured out the reason my hamata's pitchers were dudding out was due to lack of water, I just wasn't watering enough. The foliage was also stunted and now that the problem has been corrected one of them is taking off.

That's cool! I have to find another sing tujuh. GL with the fridge method. I hope it works well for you.

OK, here we go.......I was in a hurry to get to the grocery and didn't want to leave the box in the cold truck so I brought them home, unboxed and placed then in the rack still in baggies. The foliage is lush and very healthy and I managed to curl the lower stalk on three of them to bring the crown closer to the medium. I think that in a month or so I might shorten the stems, dip in rooting hormone and re-pot with the crown, level with the soil. The seller does have good communication, cares about safe delivery, good selection, fast shipping and healthy plants so I will order more from him later this spring

Plants look nice and healthy. Not sure why "leggy" is a problem, that's typically how vining plants grow.

Are the pictures not showing for anyone else?

I'm going to edit anything even remotely negative in the initial posting, let the pictures speak for themselves.

dueoka, you aren't seeing pictures?

Looks like they arrived robust & healthy. Nice score! The long stems could probably be fixed by putting support sticks next to the vining plants.

I'm just going to leave them alone and then in a month or so will shorten the stem and then root. I really like these high elevation species and if Wistuba still has the villosa's left when I get paid I'm going to try a couple of those also. I made a video of my bathroom / greenhouse but can't get it uploaded anywhere due to size. I added subtitles so I can't reduce the size too much or they will become blurred. Maybe YouTube will work.

Thanks, I'm concentrating on acquiring the toothier ones first and pictures I have seen of the diatas, densiflora and both varieties of singalana's with 'Tujuh' being the toothier of the two are very toothy. All four are high elevation plants but that doesn't scare me to much.
