A few pics... again :)

I took a few pics of my plants at parasuco's (aka greg) insistance.

These are the ones that haven't been attacked, so they look pretty good.

I've lost something like 6 months worth of growth thanks to a vengeful little bird, but as soon as I get rid of this little pest everything will get back to normal.... I hope.

I know how to take a picture, and find the picture on the computer. I have know clue how to get it from my computer, to a website, and transfer it here. I hear tell that you can use webspace from site to put pictures on the forum. If get webspace I have no clue what I do with it and how it relates to getting pictures on the forum. In conclusion I dont know what to do after i put the floppy disk from my digital camera in the A drive. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

What I would do is go to angelfire and start a site, it takes like a couple minutes.  Then when you can get to the html script page just upload the pictures onto the site.

Once they are uploaded go to the html script page and type in img src"plants.jpg"(with these things around it<>) whatever it says in your browser when is what you put into the image button you see when you are making a post.

It sounds really complicated, but it's actually really easy, maybe someone can explain it in easier terms, or maybe their is an easier way to do it, but this is just how I would do it.

Ok, I signed up to AngelFire.com. I took some pictures and uploaded them. I can see them when I select them and press "view file." I do not know what to do now. I cant find a html script page. Where is it, what does it look like and how do I access it? Thanks.

ok

So you've uploaded the pics to angelfire.com, so now you have to link them to this message board. To do that, you need the to know the location of the file. click on the link (from angelfire) to one of your pics to open it up. Once it's opened, right click on the picture and select properties. A small window should open up, showing a lot of different things. The part that you're looking for is the address (URL) which should start with "http://". highlight the text there and copy it using the copy feature. It's very likely that angelfire won't let you show the pics like I did with mine, so just paste the pathway in your reply. When you post your followup, any user that wants to see the pics can just click on the links.

I think that if you follow these steps you'll be able to show the pics to everyone. You can practice with the pics that I posted if you want.

I got on angelfire, viewed my picture, went to properties and copied the URL. This is what I got.
The picture that doesnt work

If I am correct and it does to you the same thing it does to me then it gets you into my web building page(for the love of what is good and decent dont break anything if you get in there). If you do get into the place that I am talking about select one of the files like N. gracilis and then hit view file and finally try to get it to work here. I think i followed your steps to the leeter mindmaze.

Can you post the url for your pictures that you have loaded on angelfire?

hmm thats some username and password screen.. probably to allow access to your webpage for uploading and changing your webpage.

When you have a picture showing what is the http address showing on your brower?

Go to this link:

http://www.clubphoto.com/_cgi-bin/members/sign_up.pl

download the free basic album (create your own). From there you can download the pictures from your hard drive. You left click your mouse on the picture you want to load on the forum then on properties goto address copy and past on add reply to the forums.

[ img ] paste properties here [ /img ] of course do not use spaces.

If that does not work paste the URL here and someone can post your picture (me if you want).

hope that helps,
travis

Do you mean "when <will> you have a picture showing what is the http adress showing on your browser?"
If that question is directed at me then I dont have a clue.

hmm not sure angelfire will work.

Let me rephrase though. If I wanted to go to angelfire and look at the pictures you have loaded. What would the web address be to see them? http://
confused.gif
?? . Or you can say... what would be the webaddress for your homepage?

clubphoto works but it has a limited time trial membership (I think)

Ok that link works

So it opens the webpage at the address
ht(t)tp://a1.cpimg.com/image/9B/1D/12603291-c9d6-028001E0-.jpg

Right clicking on the picture then selecting properties gives me the same http address..SO to directly load the picture here you would use the following format
IMG]http://a1.cpimg.com/image/9B/1D/12603291-c9d6-028001E0-.jpg[/IMG

To make it work you would put brackets at the beginning and the end to close the Img and the /IMG  [   and  ]
