Thanks again for any advice you might give me.
I'm reading the humidity thread and it has got me wondering about my own tank-in-progress.
I've got a tank with about 12 sq inches of open space on top--the light fixtures just straddle the top of the tank and cover the rest of it. No lid anymore--I've chucked the plexiglas.
With this setup, no plants, I'm getting humidity that is about the same as the surrounding room, and a steady 80F temp with the lights on. Convection should be taking care of air circulation.
Won't this be plenty warm/humid enough for tropical neps once it is populated? What am I missing here? Will it just blow off water until it matches room humidity again?
Thanks again.
