My thoughts are that it is a grass like Pete said. Same type of thing crops up in my Chilean sphag too from time to time. I am currently on my first attempt at Nep seeds and I have a single germination from seed I sowed only about a month and a half ago (that unknown ventricosa hybrid Pete.)

    Pyro,

I went and checked that same seed you are referring to and I also have some germination, new record for me. I think it may be the freshness of the seed or maybe because it is a hybrid and has the good hybrid vigor.

    Cheers,

I think alot of people missed it Martin as it was a link instead of a picture post

Here is Martins picture. Exactly what Nepenthes seedling look like.. 2 flat slightly pointed oval cotyledons. You can see that even the very first true leaf has the beginnings of a pitcher on it.

Is that a Nepenthes in your pocket or you just happy to see me?

They all look that way to my knowledge.. Once they make a few mature leaves you can often see slight differences in leaf shape and sometimes pitcher shape. So you might be able to tell two different plants apart but might not necessarily tell what they are as most don't begin to show mature characteristics until they are a few inches across.
