Where can you get large transparent bags? I can't seem to find any.

just so you guys know, there are really tiny humidifiers available that are much more efficient and well suited towards keeping a tank than that big unit NG has.

Here is a picture of it working in my tank.

and here is a place where you can see the actual unit, and where to buy it.

I woulda bought one of them you gave the website inof about but the ultrasonic pads give out frequently don't they? If they don't and last a generous amount of time, then I'll get one after I get some extra money.

the pads in yours, and the misters are exactly the same. The are not inexhaustible resources, and designed to be replaceable. I actually have the same model of humidifier as you NG, but I use it in my bedroom during the winter when the heater dries the air out so much that my allergies launch ww3 on my nose.

I have tested, and the pads are interchangeable. The ones in yours will wear out eventually, as will the one in mine, you just have to go buy yourself a litte baggie of replacements, and if I remember, they really are not all that expensive.

Mine has been running for over a year btw.

Well I may buy myself one of those little things., I like it and I think I would be more efficent as I can cover the entire moss, plants, soil with the mist overnight. Thanks for the website Ram! Also HOW do the Ultrasonic pads change? Ya gotta cut wires off of the original or do you just take the base apart find the pad and is it a snap and go asembly?

the base has a water tight gasket, you just unscrew the gasket with a key that is provided with the kit, and pop out the old, put in the new, tighten back down and tada.

    oh! sorry.

Well, mine is a sunbeam, but I find that it is usually the same model sold under several different brands, I got mine from walgreens.

On mine I just removed the canister, then there is a white tray under that, so I take that out, and then the humidifier is actually sitting down there. It's a little silver disk.

At this point I can't remember if there was a screw or not... I think there might have been a couple... can't remember...

heck... now that I am thinking about it, it might have been more of a project than that. I think I might have had to take the whole thing apart... definately easier to mess with the other little one.

I did take my big one apart once... but that was because I uh, got irresponsible one very late evening. Let's just say this... when it's late and you wake up and realize that your humidifier is out of water, so you stumble into the kitchen and grab the first jug you find... be careful. Tea can be slightly irritating to the eyes and nose when atomized, but heck, that might have cme from the fact our water is so hard you have to chew it before swallowing. ( I can't remember where i heard that phrase but I love it! So apt.) (San Antonio water you can SEE the solids at the bottom of a glass if you let it sit for an hour.)
