I use a Vicks Ultrasonic Cool Mist humidifier model V5100 and it is about the same as the KAZ but it will hold 2 gallons of water instead of just 1/2 gallon.

It has the same output device as the KAZ but what I did (on both my humidifiers of the same brand/model) is cut a hole in a deli or cool whip lid to fit a small clear vynil hose (1/2" to 1" diameter) and glue with aquarium silicone. then I glue the deli lid over the opening on the humifier output. then put the open end in your tank. Below is a photo of how I've attached the hose to the humidifier-the duct tape is no longer on this was just to hold it in place while the silicone set.

Jeez Ram! That was a brilliant thing to do! But I know how you feel, I don't think I would like to come to get a drink of "water" at night again when the "water" was actually PURE lemon juice! My father had been doing some of his fruit juice concoctions before I went to sleep and he left the jug of lemon juice in there, same color as the water jug and I didn't seem to notice unitl i got that big citric acid blast at 2 in the morning. Heh, I NOW look before i drink. So Ram, do you think buying one of those humidifiers of of that site is a good purchase? Thanks!

I do think it is a good deal, I know phil was looking into getting some at one point, I don't know what happened off that though...

I think they are great deals, though stay away from the ones with the hallogen bulb unless your looking to add heat to the tank.

OK. think I will get 2 but not sure yet. Can you buy 1 unit with 2 output holes for plugging in 2 ultrasonic pads? I looked on the website but didn't eally see anything. Thanks.

nepenthes gracilis,

I think I have the same ultrasonic humidifier as yours.
Anyway, I went to Home Depot yesterday and looked at the PVC pipes they had. They only had PVC pipes with the Schedule 40 grade (which is something like 4 gallons/min). Unfortunately, I think that's too thick and heavier than what I would like to be using as an attachment.

My questions are: (a) What schedule are your PVC fittings; and (b) did you use the 2 inch diameter PVC size?

Thanks.

I don't know what you mean by schedule. Anyhow my PVC pipe is 1 1/2 inch diameter.

Okay thanks, I meant to say the 1 1/2 inch diameter. I guess scedule is the thickness of the PVC walls. Greater the value, thicker the walls. I was told that they used to have thinner PVC pipes, but now Schedule 40 is the lowest grade.
