I've been growing N. villosa for some time now, and
thought some of you might enjoy seeing a photo of my plant's
most recent pitcher. I captured the attached image about an
hour ago. The pitcher shown is about 9 cm tall. The image
is large, so for those with only a 56K modem, please be patient!

I truly want to attempt the n. villosa because of it's beauty. Your picture is great. I think it is time to try. The shelter is ready and I have been able to keep the temperture regulated.

Thanks for the incentive. Any advice is appreciated.

Congratulations!!! You have done a remarkable job with this difficult and slow-growing plant. What a beauty! Keep it up.

What conditions are you keeping the plant in?

    Thanks, gentlemen!

Here is a brief summary of the conditions under which this plant
    is cultivated:

    Temp: Approx. 3 to 20 C.
    Humidity: 70% to 90%.
    Photoperiod: 14 hours/day.
Illumination: 2 40W household fluorescent lamps.
Compost: 1:1:1 mix of peat, hort. charcoal, and fine orchid bark.
Watering: Water compost through every two days, with water
    purified via reverse osmosis.
Feeding: Plant is fed with crickets every time a new pitcher
    opens.

Fantastic photos Jeff! Your new camera does a great job capturing your amazing plants. What size is your N. villosa currently? I am hoping to see a bit more mature shaped pitchers by next Spring on my big plant which is 15cm in diameter.

    Hi Tony,

Currently, this plant is a bit over 20 cm in diameter.
Yes, the new camera is quite helpful!
