Hi,

also I can't help much to solve Stefan's problem I got a nice photo from Christian Klein this week I might share:

In contrast to Rob's experience my plant grows better in not so bright levels similar to those N. rajah seems to like better. I discussed N. sibuyanensis with Christian some time ago and he mentioned that this species likes a dryer soil than most other Nepenthes.

Cheers Joachim

Man, that's a really nice shot! Clearly showing similarities with N. ventricosa!

Any idea as to how old/large that plant is which produced such a pitcher?

Ohmygaw...please tell me that's a fake one

Ok, seriously...that's a truly amazing pitcher. The plant surely must be older than 10 years?!
Looks like Christian's intensive usage of Osmocote eventually leads to humongous pitchers...
Happy Growing!

Wonderful photo Joachim an Christian! If you know Joachim, how large of a pot that plant is in? Look as far as I can tell it's hanging? Thanks.

Hi,

I don't know how old the plant is, but I suspect N. sibuyanensis being in cultivation for 10 years being described by J. Nerz in 1998.

Christian added that the plant only pitchers during few months in winter so the lower temperatures might be the key.

Dustin, I'm sorry but I don't know how big the hanging pot is.

Cheers Joachim

oh wow. That looks great! I love this species. I just got one in a trade, but unfortunately i had to move it to cali right after i potted it . I put it in the window with a plastic bag over it, and just a ball of soil, and the leaves got a bit crisp in spots. It deffinately doesnt like high light. Man, it has about the same diameter as the one pictured, but the stem is only a couple inches long. I think the tendril is almost as long as that one, so im hoping to have big pitchers pretty soon!
