I got my "tropical pitcher plant" at Lowes. It wa young plant and had the orange speckles on its pitchers, which apparently looks different as it matures - kind of like fawns. From what I can glean, I have a baby ventricosa. I would venture to say that Home Depot probaly has nothing more difficult or sophisticated than a ventricosa as well. Check out the pinned topic about what plants are charactreistically sold from these two stores.

I believe Tony posted about it a while back, saying it was the result of cross/inbreeding. I don't think it is contagious, but I wouldn't it near my prized plants either.

Hmmmm... it looks a bit like that "genetic monster" in terms of how much growth it has, but it really does look like some "proper" neps I've seen, too..
The pitchers look a lot like the N.ventricosa that Zongyi posted, excepting the fact that they have twin ridges of "spines" down the front of them...
I will post a pic soon, if the plant is a problem I will do whatever I must....
None of the other ones in the store looked like the one I got, I either picked the best or the worst I guess
