Where have all the subulata gone...

4 years ago, among other things, Sarraceniaobcessed was offering seeds of U. subulata. Being new to CP's I asked for some. To which I was warned to keep them as far as possible away from other CP's and that I probably have them in my collection without realizing it. Ya know... he was right. I had them in with some of my pygmy sundew pots.

A friend was asking me if I still had them in my pots. I hadn't paid attention to them in awhile and to my surprise, they were gone. I don't know why. Maybe they froze to death?

Don't laugh but I kinda miss the yellow flowers. They remind me of dandelions!

Aw, sorry to hear that. IMO, even if it's a weed, I would've enjoyed it.

I like them. Except when they don't flower.

Jim, I think they snuck out of your house and moved into mine. I have several pots that have suddenly started sprouting short, narrow leaves in the soil. They're even in pots that I don't think were anywhere near my Utrics.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Nice flowers when you see them, but what a ripoff when you see brown stalks and get nothing else but pods.

I've got some of that species - I've got three little bushes of it - 'planned' ones, that I grew from seed because I didn't have it my collection. And I needed hardly any of the seed - still got like half of left! Lol how could you have killed it? Maybe the colony just ran out of vigor from self-pollinating and died?
