Utricularia uniflora

This one is moving up my list of most liked Utric's, tiny little one the entire mass is under 2" X 2". There are currently 5 stalks going up, one should open in the next few days!

They are growing in a mix of milled peat/milled sphagnum/sand/perlite under 2 T5HO lights about 12" from the bulbs.

The flower bud is 1/8" just for reference.

They are a little out of focus, but I'm learning!

Cute utrics! i love their flowers, like mini orchids :D

They have a neat shape to them.

Very nice! I love the shape of the "leaves." They are like mini U. calycifida leaves.

Incredible! My Uniflora are sending out stalks for the first time, but they look nowhere near as robust as yours. The leaves look the same though.

Please do post pics when it fully opens.

Did you give it special temps/water levels/light?

I didn't change anything, but the weather here has been jumping around alot so the house temps have moved alot more than normal.

Yesterday it finished opening up, very slow to open! It made me wait what seemed like forever. Little fuzzy but I'm getting old.

After a bit more than a year iirc, my U. uniflora finally decided to share some flowers with me. I remembered that RSS had shared his U. uniflora blooms so it seemed a good idea to stick my pics in his thread - my plant came from him & there are some notable differences...

Front view (to my untrained eye, there are significant differences between this flower & RSS's - both in color & shape):

Side view:

Three-quarters view (yes - it started to drizzle on me & the flowers after I went out):

Foliage - the little 'buttons' are much more sparse than in RSS's pot, yet this is as dense as mine have grown. Their tiny size continually makes me wonder how the heck they survive in the wild. The only way they survive in my care is with my carefully plucking moss every 2 months or so ... :censor:

Whole plant. This provides a bit of perspective. It's hard for me to believe that those tiny buttons can produce these giant redwood flower stalks (so far 5 stalks - 2 in bloom & 3 more coming along):

The portion I sent was from this batch, I know growing conditions can have alot to do with flower color and some shape but I'm always amazed when I see it. Are all your flowers looking the same? The "curved" shape on mine could easily have just been a temp change that upset the blooms or something. I have not managed to get these to rebloom yet, I need to pull moss to make sure there is still enough plant in there :0o:. So much to do so little time.

I've traded orchids over the last year or two with the same person and the ones I get always reduce there new leaf size by 50% or more and they always get 2X larger leaves from the plants I send them :-)). I've noticed the same thing with some mini ferns, silly plants.

Conditions make such a big impact.

So far, the 1st two are close to identical.
