    Aquasoil is an aquatic plant medium made in Japan by ADA. I tried some out a while back and have liked the results so far. I've done some very limited testing and it seems that the few Utric's I've tried in the stuff are growing faster than peat/sand. As a bonus it is much more moss resistant. It takes a few months for a pot of Aquasoil to start growing mosses, vs the few weeks for peat/sand in my conditions. A huge plus is you ask me.

    Beautiful flowers - thanks for sharing! I thought that the striping was not present on my flowers but when I checked - it was there - just muted. However, the coloration appears different (even though I suspect they are the same clone). Here are the 2 pics together for easy comparison - 1st - your flower:

    I read somewhere that Utricularia pubescens may actually have two different types of carnivorous leaves. There is of course the bladder traps, but the upper round leaves are apparently sticky like a butterwort's leaves. It is not known whether the upper leaves produce enzymes.
