50/50 sand peat mix, warm, very wet, with occasional flooding and mine really, really likes a lot of sunshine.

I only ever grew G. hispidula once upon a time.

It seemed to grow well as if it were a Nepenthes, just highland conditions and pure sphagnum substrate.

    G. hispidula does pretty well in a fairly wide variety of conditions. I like using some mix of sphagnum, sand and perlite, maybe with some peat and lots of water. It likes to have fairly bright light. Warmish subtropical temperatures seem to be best for me.

    G. margaretae grows in similar conditions, though it seems to like somewhat more consistently warm (or rather, not cold) temperatures and a bit more peat.
