Hi guys,

This is probably my cheapest and most affordable option to getting a better light for VFT's.

Britestik Fluorescent Lamp

One setting white plastic lamp lights your plants fast and easily
Uses one fluorescent tube with a maximum wattage of 33
Rotary switch for easy operation
No special installation wiring required - just plug in to use
2 x 2 x 25" (5.1 x 5.1 x 63.5cm)

This is only 12$ CDN each. So I can get 2 of them.

Is this 66W good enough for healthy VFT's if not bright red traps...?

Right now I have them besdie a north side window...i.e., bright shade + 13 watt lamp.

will this be good???

varun

ONLY DIfference is Frosted lenses. Is it worth it??/ or is the first one sufficient?

i dont know...they say 100watts are ideal for most CPs. neps can take lower, VFTs are at the line, sarrs are WAY above and ditto with most dews.

I really cant tell you except what I know what works for me.

I use 2 60 watt fixture 120 watt imitator lights (those energy saving ones that are all curly?) IN a 20 gallon Tank for my Sundews. I got mine at Walmart. It gives The Drosear a nice color and the VFT cuttings a good look to!

This is all I can help with.

good luck in youre search.

yes please...I would appreciate it too. Please show me the model details for those lamps

is this the one??? it says 40 W...should I make a fixture with 2 of them???

http://walmart.ca/wps-por....yId=336

meh....Ii can't afford to make it a fixture. So I guess I'll just use 2 33 watt ones.....Put aluminium foil on top....reflect it down. Thats it.....I seriously can't MAKE a top lid fixture.

Dude, I dont even build fixtures... (yes it is those lights)

I buy those 60 watt desk lamps.
Its a different brand, but same Idea.

well....how about 3 of those first ones?? it would make 3 x 40 = 120 watt.

then I would use AL foil to close the sides and top. How about that?

Will this be fine then??

is the extra money for frosted lens necessary???

  • #10
frosted lens cuts down on light.

  • #11
alright then...tahts great...I'll go for 3 of the first `12 $ ones.
