I would have to agree that you are feeding it too often. Traps can only take 1-2 meals before they turn black and die.

My plants which are kept outside have really gorged themselves the last couple weeks on bugs. As a result most of the traps have all turned black at once and all I have are dead traps and buds that are still developing. It's not pretty, but it's the plant just doing what it does.

I would really say that you should not bother "feeding" your plant. If you live in an area with insects outside they WILL find it. Remeber its not a housepet, it dosn't need to be fed on a regular basis every time a trap is open.

I would ask also though if we could get a pic of your plants just to see how you have them set up.

welcome to the best forum on the internet,

there could be lots reson for ur vft dying, its probably u stress it by feed it right after u bought it from wal-mart etc. and too much feeding is bad feed 1 or 2 trap at once is perfet for vft, over feed can kill ur vft , and try to find a nice bright spot for ur vft and let it sit there for awhile until u see new growth, for more information please stick around =]

u can buy them year round on some website make sure they have very good contact informations so u can contact them if anything happen, and theses one website that is mention on this forum u can see it on the home page, and its better to order a vft from carnivorous nursery than get it off from wal-mart, home depot, etc. because place like wal-mart, homedepot and etc they just leave the plants there suffer until they die and they throw the plants away which they don't take care of the plants just let it die there. just make sure u do ur study on reading few vft care guide good luck bro
