So much red. Looks great.

What variety is the bottom row middle in the last pic?

Holy crap those flytraps are awsome!!!!!!! What is the second one!?! And I love how they're so compact!! Even the red dragons are! I think... Very nice plants, thanks for sharing

Those colors are hurting my eyes. Good job! :)

That is a cross I made some time ago of "Big Jaws" x dente. It is quite something and gets really huge traps.

Wow. Very nice VFT's.

I'm impressed with the all red VFT's.

What kind are they?

The reason I ask is I want some red VFT's that stay completely red when mature. Your red VFT's look mature, and are solid red.
I have Red Dragons, when young the whole plant is red, but as it matures the petioles get more green on them.
I have heard the VFT 'Pink' is supposed to stay red when mature. I'm have found out this year that is not true. My petioles have green on them.

Thank you all for the kind words

Nightsky- That could be either Red Dragon or Big Jaws x self, if the plant you mean is all red, then it is the former.

Devon- That beautiful plant is Big Jaws x Dente and is Philcula's creation. The plant is in a 5-6 " pot

elgecko- The pure red plants are Red Dragon. I receive intense light through my poly in my greenhouse and I attribute that to the bright coloration in the plants. VFT "Pink" will stay the same color as Red dragon , but again the light intensity is crucial. Maturity of the plant does not seem to matter

Macca- Why the sad face?

My plants grow outside in full sun dawn to dusk..... never get that coloration on them.
I have noticed from pictures that many VFT's grown in greenhouses have better coloration for some reason.

Fantastic VFT's :)

Elgecko: you could always get...a petite dragon?I have a couple of them and those stay a solid red and probably some of the deepest reds i've ever seen. of course you may not appreciate their... petiteness :p Just a thought as its my only "all red" vft, my red piranha's all have the green edge, albeit a thin one...

My VFTs grown outside in full sun only get hints of red, but when grown under lights they get deep red. Seems backwards to me.

I've noticed similar results. ???

Even with plants that got dabbled sunlight got more color then compared to full sunlight.

I do not know why this happens either, it could be that the poly intensifies the UV
and at the same time distributes it . The best example I can think of is that the sun is closest to Earth in the Winter and farthest away in the Summer:scratch:

vraev- I totally agree. I have seen tens if not hundreds of thousands of cultivated vft in my 35 years of growing cp's and I can honestly say that mesaman is bar none the single best vft grower I have ever encountered. I just stand in awe at his abilities. And I am seriously not kidding folks when I say that you can literally HEAR his flytraps snapping shut..they're just that freaking big.

I remember on one visit he allowed me to stick my finger in one of the larger of his dente plants. It was so fast and big and strong that it felt like it was going to slice right through my finger. I couldn't believe the vice pressure this thing had. It was the most excitingly (eew) errie feeling I think I've ever had.
