Hi SnowyFalcon,

Science begins with a question. A question is neither an absolute nor a mystery. It is idea that starts a journey. Absolutes kill science as they kill questioning and so kill thinking. In questions of belief and faith one needs absolutes as they support those experiences. In science, one needs questioning. This is why I feel the mixing of science and religion ruin both. Each is a way of knowing. Some people only wish to know about belief. Some wish only to know about science. Some wish to know about both. Sadly, most mix the two in an endless battle of one-up-man-ship and we all loose. When science is used as a weapon of morality we are in deep do-do. When religion is used as a mandated and absolute worldview and LAW we are in deep do-do. We must focus on that which allows the most people to live as well as possible, freely, in the here and now. It is all we literally know.

Who are you to do the same?
you claim to know that God wrote the bible..
you dont know that.
you are speaking FOR God, who are you to do that??
This is not the same at all. I stated something most Christians believe. I didn't make up God's thoughts like you did. I don't want to get in a fight with you so i'm done posting here. Let's just agree that we disagree.

Oh, one question; Does anyone else notice this topic no longer has anything to do with VFTs?

1) He was quoting from the Bible

it is a matter of opinion that the bible is true, not fact.

2) He claims to know that God wrote the Bible, because God TOLD us that.

it is a matter of opinion that God wrote the bible, and it is also a matter of opinion that he said he wrote it..neither can be claimed as fact..FACTS can be proved, neither of those assumptions can be proved. by its nature, religion is not factual, it is based only on faith, not facts..

3) Yes, we DO know that... Don't you know what religion is?

yes, religions are groups of ideas and customs based on humans attempting to answer questions that have no observable answers.
they are mythology. anyone is free to believe their particular religion is the "truth"..but believing something is true does not automatically MAKE it true!

4) I would like for you to point out where he did this. To be honest it was YOU speaking for God... "God is not amused" WHO ARE YOU TO DO THAT

he said it very clearly right here:
"Well first of all God wrote the Bible. Yes he used people to physically write it but the words are his. God told them what to write." that is speaking for God. no one can prove any of that is true, therefore it might not be, therefore it is saying you KNOW the mind of God..

And who am I? I am someone who is allowed to speculate on the nature of God, just as you are.
I never said I wasnt speaking for God..
I dont have any problem doing that! others do..
and the irony is that those who accuse me of "speaking for God" are doing the exact same thing themselves..

I think I know God and the nature of God much better than the vast majority of Christians.
my opinion, I cant prove its true, and I dont have to..
I also wont be offended or get defensive if someone doubts me on that..

news flash..there are lots of people who doubt Christianity..
there are lots of people who think christianity is NOT the truth..
they might be right.
they might be wrong.
you might be right.
you might be wrong.
I might be right.
I might be wrong..

no person in the world can prove any of it..
religion can never be proven to be "true".
thats why I can say its all a matter of opinion, and faith, not fact.
please learn to accept that..you will be happier if you do.

That is a quote from the Bible, not direct though.

If you do not mind speaking for God, then why did you point it out, angered, to buckeye? that makes absolutely no sense...

"they might be right.
they might be wrong.
you might be right.
you might be wrong.
I might be right.
I might be wrong..

you are right about that! Hence it is called religion. I guess the only way to truely prove it right is when you die and see for yourself.
