I recently purchased 2 VFT's and the enclosed growing instructions tell me to use the plastic cup coverings & fill with water then place the plastic pots containing the VFT's in the cups so the bottoms of the pots are resting in the water. They also say not to place plants in direct sunlight. Is this correct?

Hi Sage (my cat's name incidently )
The pots should be permanently standing in a saucer or dish of rain or distilled water. Don't use tap water.
Venus flytraps love lots of direct sun, unless you live in the south where it is too strong.
