    How does sand kill a plant slowly? From what I've seen, the majority of people use 50/50 peat to sand mix. Plus, sand is what occurs in nature, and not perlite. So if anything, I would think that sand would be better than perlite. As long as the sand was rinsed well.

    thanks everyone for all the tips!! Im getting reeaaaallly antsy to get my plants now!![img]http://www.**********.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/new/smile_n_32.gif[/img]

    **********.com says the plants grow best in acidic soil, and they pot their's VFTs in shredded Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss and Perlite...(Do they even HAVE sand in N. and S. Carolina?? lol no jk)
