My vft has sticky liquid on the edge of the trap.

My Dente that I'm growing inside my 10 Gallon terrarium with a Fluorex over it has started to get this sticky fluid by the trap edges.

I touched the fluid and it was sticky.

Do you think it is digestive juices or is it some kind of trap sealer that helps seal the trap airtight when it shuts with a insect?

The traps are now approaching 1 inch in diameter and have more pink inside.

Mine have been drooling like that too, I think it's digestive juices.

Taste it, I think you will be suprised

Mine are doing the same thing, it is nectar to lure the insects.

Ummmm. It is sweet. Now try tasting the yummy "juice" contained in a 2 month old S. purpurea pitcher. I bet you would be surprised by that too.

No thanks, I'll leave the tasting to the insects.
