I placed a layer of LFS on top of my growing medium(peat/perlite) and around my VFTs. The stuff is starting to turn green and it looks like some of it is sprouting small green tendrils. Is this normal?

The pots are in my yard and have been for the last week. I noticed the green a few days ago but it seems to be really taking over the surface now. Thanks.

Can you post a pic? How long ago did you put the dry LFS on top? It should have a star-like appearance.

Is LFS sold commonly in plant stores?

IF you live where there is an orchid gorwer they will normally sell you a 1/4 bale for about $22 this makes about 30 gallons of wet LFS
