Send in the Clones
Up for auction is one mature division of S. areolata, offered by PetFlytrap. If you're not familiar with this particular clone, this plant is a non-native hybrid that originates from the Watson Pinelands Preserve (WPP) in the Big Thicket of East Texas. The only Sarracenia species native to Texas is S. alata. However, someone intentionally planted one or more non-nativ S. leucophylla plants into this native pitcher plant bog years ago. As part of an effort ot maintain the bog in as close to its native state as possible, I work with the botanical manager of the WPP to remove/rescue these non-native hybrid Sarracenia.

Some of the plants more closely resemble one parent or the other. However, ALL of these produce copious pitchers, and beautiful pink-petaled flowers in the spring. So you would not only be helping me find a home for these plants; you would be getting a nice-looking plant in the process!

Bidding starts at $5, and I will pay the shipping if the winning bid is over $15. Otherwise the shipping is $5.
