What is and what should never be
Up for auction is a starter portion of red live Sphagnum moss. This is something I haven't seen offered much.
I'm not sure of the species; it's from Oregon. These pictures are truly terrible. The container got rained on pretty hard, and the moss is soaked. I assure you it looks much better when it's holding less water. I recently chopped and divided the moss up between two shoe boxes today to get it growing. I will include the amount that is in both shoe boxes (the shoe box pictured shows the full amount before I chopped the moss and divided it). I'm thinking the amount should be one cup minimum tightly packed, though will probably be closer to two cups; possibly more but I don't want to over estimate. I have also included a picture of what the moss should look similar to once it starts growing. This is another red variety (it may be the same species, or it may not) that I have growing in a terrarium.
If the moss has not started growing before auction end/ship date, I may would like to opt to keep it for another week or two. I want to make sure it's healthy enough for the winner to get a good start with it.
Starting bid: $2.00
Please pay $6.00 shipping.
Please PM me with questions. U.S. bidders only please.
Actual stuff for auction (I'm embarrassed for these pictures, really LOL)
What it will look similar to in a couple weeks.
