Up for auction is a 2.5" pot of Cephalotus seedlings from seed collected in the fall of 2011.
On 09.27.11, I planted 60 freshly-harvested seeds from several of my 'Hummer's Giant' flower stalks. I am unsure of the total number that have germinated but as of my last count on 02.04.12, there were 34 (however, I have seen several more freshly-germinated plants after I stopped tracking ...). How many more of those 60 seeds will sprout in the future - who knows? Even if no more sprout, I suspect that this is a great opportunity for someone to get a bunch of SG Cephs all at once...
These seedlings are NOT the cultivar 'Hummer's Giant' since they have the potential to be genetically different from their parents. There is no guarantee how SG plants will turn out due to this variability (although many people prefer SG plants because of this possibility) but there are pics of prior-year SG plants in my growlist.
Here's the pot today
For anyone interested in details, here's a shot of my germination tracking cheatsheet.
- Bidding starts @ $2.
- Buyer pays shipping - which is estimated to be <$10. If you win more than one of my auctions, I will combine shipping to reduce costs.
- USA only.
- For questions or suggestions, I can be reached @

- As May's weather can turn hot quickly, for the safety of the plant (& my personal sanity), please plan to pay quickly at the end of the auction.
