Mexican ping plantlets - from roots or leaves?

Some of my Mexican pings (e.g. Sethos) will produce plantlets from underneath the parent plant. Most of the rest of the plants I have to manually remove leaves and initiate plants from the leaf cuttings. Are the new plants that naturally form underneath the parent plant springing up from the roots or are they the result of older leaves coming in contact with the soil?

I would guess older leaves.

I think the new plantlet may be growing out of the stock. I have seen this a few times in my collection.

What do you mean by growing out of the stock?

My P. Yucca Do 1717 does that. I started with like 3 now I have more than I care to count. You want some when I send you the others?

Thanks, Wes, I'm good with those Yucca Do's. Here's 1713:

What I'd like to know is where are 1-1712 and 1714-1716!

LOL, I know. We'll have to team up and "COLLECT THEM ALL"
