My first Pinguiciula seeds :)

I'm really happy right now. :-D
I just harvested my first Mexican Pinguicula seeds after many failed attempts over the past 3-4 years.
I don't know the cross except that the one with the seeds is a Pinguicula moctezumae.
They will be sown today or tomorrow and I will update this thread if or when they germinate.

Nice looking seed. But you aren't sure which is the paternal (pollen) parent?

Wishing you the best success at germinating and growing them up.

No, I just randomly pollinated my ping flowers.
Next time I will tag each flower so I will know what the parents are.
I have tried so many times with no luck I took to just trying to pollinate everything with one toothpick.
Some of Joseph Clemens recent posts on ping pollination helped me figure out what is where and what to do.
Joseph Clemens, do you have any tips on what mix to use for germination?
I have been using APS for most of my pings but that wouldn't work well for the seeds.

I've sieved iron oxide coated perlite through window screen, then used that to make a 1/8-1/4" layer on the surface of the APS, or kitty litter.
