um..i dont thenk ionanthas go dormant. i have onwe..it never lose any stickyness or grew succlent leaves. mine is flowering now..white/ purple streaks. who knows.

the P.Ionanthe does not go dormant.
As the temps get cooler and the air less humid...a new set of leaves will appear... They will not have the stickyness to them.
BUT
If you keep it in a high humid area and temps high...it won't (can't) do it.
