ok i have (i think) a P. primuliflora and i was wondering if it has to go through winter dormancy? if so what shoudl i do with it? i live in ohio so it gets pretty cold soon and i wasnt sure what to do, thanks.
That one doesn't require a dormancy. I have kept mine on a window sill for 13 months now and it gets a little cooler in the winter and of course the photoperiod is shorter. The photoperiod has a more significant effect than the whatever temperature differential the sill provided. Mine took a couple month respite from producing flowers, but that was about it. I live in PA, so that is comparable to Ohio.
