P. moranensis flowering

Hey,

My P. moranensis finally decided to flower. It has sent up three buds in succession now, but each has grown to about an inch in height, the nectar spur has elongated, and then the whole bud dries and collapses.

Any idea what's going on? Otherwise, each new set of leaves is bigger than the last and the whole plant has a nice rosy color. It's producing dew like normal and growing steadily.

That is actually fairly normal behavior for many Pinguicula moranensis and even some other Pinguicula as well.

Do these plants also sometimes actually bloom, or are they bad clones?

No, almost all Mexican Pinguicula often abort buds before, during, and after flowering cycles. They still manage to produce flowers.

The P. moranensis and a P. esseriana are my only Mexican butterworts so far...I've mostly grown SE USA natives before.
