Around what time should i start to dry out my ping

Finch

Whats it to ya?
I was wondering at what time i should begin to let my mexican pings dry out for the winter. thanks.

Wait until they switch to succulent foliage before drying them out.

I never let mine dry out.

What do you feed your pings?

I sprinkle them (very lightly) with powdered freeze-dried bloodworms and sometimes I dry and powder the insects I catch with my bug zapper.

Hey PingMan, where do you buy your freeze-dried bloodworms? Local petstore?

WalMart or Petsmart

Ok, thanks. I'll have to pick up some of those soon.

I rub them through a screen to powder them before I use them. And be careful to use a very light sprinkle, too much can quickly cause trouble.

Do you make little heart-shaped patterns on your pings, as does Cindy?

No I haven't done that yet, though it looks interesting. I think she uses frozen ones she has thawed out, I have used those to feed VFT's, but I fear leaf damage to Pinguicula, though I have no evidence for this fear. I also sometimes use a (10 to 40 ppm) solution of soluble fertilizer applied as a fine mist to the leaves.
