Jade plants

hi, i was wondering how you propagate jade plants? Thanks,
Kevin

I assume your jade plant is Crassula ovata (formerly C. argentea, Family Crassulaceae), it is very easy to propagate, much easier than nearly all CPs. Just pull off a leaf or a piece of stem with several leaves. Leave it for a few days for the cut to heal over and plant it in the same soil as the parent plant. It should root fairly quickly and there is your new plant. No need for rooting hormone or any other special treatment.

I often pinch-out the growing tips of my jade plants to get them to form a nice, bushier plants, and use these cuttings for propagation.

Cheers
Vic
