Illegal sale

Here's the email response I got from the seller before the auction was ended (by eBay, it seems):

"Point taken, I have revised the listing...may not be totally kosher, but I've purchased several federally listed species from ebay without incidence. thank you."

Two wrongs don't make a right.

You can even report a completed auction, FWIW. ;)

You may have a point here. If they get flooded with reports then they might react to it. The number of people reporting it could make them think about it. I reportted stuff in the past and no action was taken.

Typically the listing is banned after many, many contacts. If it gets bad enough, the user will be banned. However, the seller can usually create another name and use the same auction text without any blocking by fleaBay. The cycle could repeat, but most people won't bother reporting them over and over.

It's quite easy for fleaBay to create listing filters, but it cuts into their profit margin. So they let things slip through the cracks.
