2011 Green Swamp Trip

It was a super dry summer in the swamp this year.
I found only one small patch of D.intermedia
<a href="http://s1109.photobucket.com/albums/h434/Nepenthes138/Wild%20Carnivorous%20Plants/?action=view&current=greenswamp2011052.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h434/Nepenthes138/Wild%20Carnivorous%20Plants/greenswamp2011052.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Due to the drought, I was able to access parts of the swamp that were totally flooded in years past. I found these 2 hybrid Sarracenia about a mile or so in.
Hybrid #1:

<a href="http://s1109.photobucket.com/albums/h434/Nepenthes138/Wild%20Carnivorous%20Plants/?action=view&current=greenswamp2011064.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h434/Nepenthes138/Wild%20Carnivorous%20Plants/greenswamp2011064.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Hybrid #2 :
<a href="http://s1109.photobucket.com/albums/h434/Nepenthes138/Wild%20Carnivorous%20Plants/?action=view&current=greenswamp2011125.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h434/Nepenthes138/Wild%20Carnivorous%20Plants/greenswamp2011125.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Only 1 dried out Dionaea this year.

That's about it for this year. Hopefully it'll be a little more on the wet side next summer.

Do you guys have purps out there? Wish we had flavas.. what a sight.

The pics were taken in North Carolina. I'll show you wild purps when you come up this summer.

Great pics!

Very cool, thanks for sharing! The poor wee flytrap hurt my heart but the seeds instantly made it all better. Sweet!

while this does NOT tickle my fancy, this plant is nevertheless fascinating and lovely.
