Over this coming summer I will be travelling all across NC in an attempt to photograph as many CP's in situ as possible, particularly Sarracenia. I am working on a book about the diversity of Sarracenia between the populations within NC as well as a field guide for even the most botanically challenged. I won't be posting the photos I plan on using in my book here but I'll have plenty of other to share.

I'll be posting most often on my blog, which I just started. http://sarracenian.wordpress.com/

Here's a few pictures to give you all a taste of what is to come.

This first one is just for fun. My friend Zack and I had fun imagining this Longleaf Pine as a Bro at a frat party. Yes I know we're weird...

One thing I've been amazed with since going to Croatan is the massive amounts of Pinguicula pumila there and how incredibly diverse the flower colorations are.

I think I'll end this update with some Calopogon tuberosus. Some of the shades of pin in the flowers were quite beautiful. Not to mention the flowers themselves were pretty cool to see.

Upon further review I am pretty sure the Calopogon orchids are actually C. barbatus rather than C. tuberosus and thanks for the compliments everyone :D

Nice pics! I especially like the inverts and the frog. And the orchids and the moss. The wasp is a mud dauber.
