Sounds like a cool project. Think...when you're done you can let the tank dry out...and in a month add water and start over again.

pretty cool project dude.

btw, volcanic rocks are known for leaching metals and other undesirables into tank water. that enough is reason enough not to use them.

Takashi amano is one of my aquarium heroes. he makes very cool tanks. one of my dreams is to take what i have learned in fresh water planted aquaria, and one day do a mangrove setup w/ sea grasses and a big ol puffer fish.

Thank you! I love amano! He uses aquaria like a canvas and his tanks are like paintings!

Very interesting Idea. I kind of wanted to do that with pipefish and seahorses, but i'm too lazy to grow live food and feed them with a pipette.
