I bought one of those cool spiral rhinox bubble counters. Can I add dye (Or ph regent or something) to it to get cool color? This is what I bought

wouldnt the dye just run out the end and into the tank?
along with the bubbles?
the dye would last a few minutes, then be gone.

No, the water stays in the glass, only the Co2 exits. I guess the water would slowly evaporate over time, but I could just squirt more in it with a syringe easy-peasy.

I could have bought a 5 dollar bubble counter, but I wanted novelty lmao!

hmmm..I have never used one of these, so I may be wrong, but im 90% sure that diffuser works by injecting the Co2 in one end, the whole thing is filled with water, the co2 bubble spirals up the glass spiral, slowly diffusing into the water..then the tube is open at the other end and exits into the tank.
If the diffuser was closed at one end, wouldnt the Co2 bubbles eventually just fill it up completely?

I thought the whole point of those spiral diffusers was to keep the Co2 bubble in contact with the aquarium water long enough for the Co2 gas to diffuse fully into the water. the whole point of the spiral is to slow down the bubble. how can it work if its only open on the end that recieves the gas?

That's not a diffuser, just a bubble counter. one "nipple" (dunno what to call the part that attaches to the airline lol) attaches to a needle valve and then the co2 tank, the other "nipple" attatches to an airline and that attatches to a diffuser inside the tank. The spirals are just for novelty. It's basically a rip-off of the ADA spiral bubble counter. This unit attatches to the outside of the tank.

this is the diffuser I bought (they match lol!)
