Last Leadbeater's possum dies in captivity

Actually, the last possum in CAPTIVITY dies. It says there is about 1,000 left in the wild.

Not good news but he couldn't breed anyway.

I was actually up in their natural habitat yesterday- what's left of it.

BTW it takes longer than you think to get an animal from the wild and into a zoo. you can just get and Leadbeater or two from the wild and *plop* put it in a zoo. they have to go through generations of acclimation.

Hey, we're probably better off with it being extinct anyway. I mean, there's gotta be a REASON for that name, right?

Hans@visualizing an opossum on the prowl, beating smaller animals to a pulp with a chunk of lead...

actually the name comes from the person who discovered it....____ Leadbeater haha
