Sorry for stepping on your post...hehe...But I wanted to add the musical score and some vocals in Nightmare Before Christmas were done by Danny Elfman of Oingo Boingo fame. Danny has scored many top movies including Batman, Edward Scissorhand and most of Tim Burton's films. He's one of my music heroes.
I just caught "Napoleon Dynamite" on HBO yesterday,
and I have to say.. I dont see what all the hype is about.
yeah, it had some funny bits, but overall I wasnt all that impressed and thought it was mostly lame..
but maybe im just too old.
The highschool movies of my generation (X) are Breakfast Club, Fast times at Ridgemont High, and Heathers!
Sigh. I think Napolean Dynamite was a brilliant movie. It's totally different, doesn't have normal hero characters, and isn't overtly funny despite being a comedy. But it's one of those movies that gets better with each viewing, too. It isn't for everyone, and I didn't really like it the first time I watched it. But in the end, it's very rewarding and life-affirming. It's ruthless with it's examination of human foibles and the stilted nature of American farm culture. But at the same time the message is very positive. I loved that movie! But I also understand how you'd watch it and wonder what the fuss is about.
