Thats my APBT Arabelle. Those pics are from september i think, so shes a little bigger and about 4.5 months old now.

I don't know if those pics work, though the codes are right. I don't know if they don't wanna work in firefox, or if there is some block in place against using images hosted by CPUK

They only take about 20 minutes of maintanence a week. You should play with them atleast an hour a day, though. I think one would kill your gliders if they got together.

Thanks for the info JLAP, but I still can't have one

In their order of aquistion:

My boa, Speckles, almost 9 feet and over 13 years old (I got him when he was 1 month old):

Lucy, my ball python, who I rescued from a neglectful owner:

Darwin, my blue tegu, and the most awsome lizard ever:

Columbia, my young female crested gecko:

Magenta, her sister:

Those are all the real pets. There's about about 20-odd snakes in lab, but those don't count as pets.

WOW! Beautiful snakes and lizards! My friends in Michigan breed Crested Geckos, very neat! Your snakes have beautiful patterns and your blue tegu is awesome! Huge! Does he bite? Good for you for saving that snake
smile.gif

Come on guys, I KNOW there's more pets out there! Adnedarn, where's Buttercup and your ferrets? Ozzy, where's Moonshine and all your reptiles? PAK, where's Ollie?JimScott, where's...uh oh, I forgot your cats name again! Starlight? I know it reminds me of Ozzy's dogs name in a way.

Lets see them

Nope, he's as tame as one can get. That's part of why I advocate Tegus (a South American group of lizards which convergently evolved with monitor lizards) over monitor lizards; in general they're tamer, more relaxed, and much more trustworthy (an important trait in a large lizard).

Mokele, that's neat!
Drosera, that's really neat that you rescued her from a bait shop! I'm sorry you don't have her anymore
smile_h_32.gif
Maybe you can save another one?

I don't know if I trust myself to do that. Raising plants and crayfish got in the way, so I don't know if I could do that again, but I prolly will eventually, maybe in college.

Broadly speaking, they're the cousins of skinks. IIRC, tegus are part of anguimorpha, a sister group to scincomorpha. Monitors are more distantly related to them. This is why I named him Darwin; monitors are only present in the Old World, so in the New World, a different group evolved to fill the same niche, and converged on similar physical and behavioral traits. Convergent evolution at it's best.

They're a very popular pet species, quite easy to keep, too. In a few years, my fiancee and I will likely be offering the babies of those two girls for sale.

Anything smaller than it, or which it can tear into smaller pieces. Mostly mice, but they'll sometimes sample vegetable foods. Egg is a favorite.

We don't block them. Perhaps they have a problem with hot linking out of the forum and blocking it by referrer? I don't know. You can right click on your little red Xs and select "view image" and people can see them like that. Otherwise enter them as URLs that people need to click. I don't see any reason they are not posting as photos. They are .jpg pictures, and that's all this forum cares about
