Lust in Space

Trapper7

Loves VFT's!
I'm sure most of you have heard by now about Lisa Nowack, the austronaut who was arrested for "thinking" about murdering her lovers' girlfriend, or whoever that other woman was. Well over the weekend, a restaurant close to the space center in FL decided to raise money for Lisa Nowack and saying that they stand by thier NASA austronauts. The owner of the restaurant said that all the money they made over the weekend from customers dining there, will be sent to Lisa Nowack and her family to spend as they like. So basically she is being REWARDED for attempted murder! I know that we're not sure she was REALLY going to kill this other woman, but she had a BB gun (which I'm not sure can actually KILL anyone) a couple new knives, some large tubing and garbage bags (along with her diaper!) so that is why she is being charged for attempted 1st degree murder. Am I the only one who thinks this is wrong? I mean she DID threaten the other woman into her car with the BB gun, so now we're rewarding her?? I don't care if she is an austronaut, this is insane! I can understand if the money went to her 3 children, who now are having to go through all this crap and they may lose their mom cause she might go to jail for this, and they also basically found out that there mom was cheating on their dad (even though they seperated 2 weeks before this happened), that I can understand, but to give money to a CRIMINAL is messed up! This world is going down.

What are your thoughts on this?

Astro-nut.

I think... Well she technically didn't DO anything wrong yet right? Yeah she's crazy but technically she's innocent. Maybe they can get her on conspiring to commit a crime or something.

That restaurant is stupid.

Ya, I agree with you. If nothing else, the money should have been raised to give to the family of the astronaut she was attempting to kill. You know that this will have some major affects on her and she is probably going to be in therapy for a while.

Furthermore... IMHO no man is WORTH losing the career that this woman is going to lose. OMG

I can donate a box of Depends.

Or is it Deep-Ends?

Yeah seriously she was an astronut! She gave that up for a man! What an idiot!

We're sending people like her up there to the space station but we give an old lady BS because she wants to bring some preparation H onto the plane? Come on.....

HAHHAHAHA I love your comments. You are hilarious. hahaha I about wore a whole cup of coffee. I fly a lot and get to see a lot of what they tell people they can't bring in and you just wanna faint. I watched them tell someone they couldn't bring on a cup of coffee that she had JUST bought (They wouldn't let her drink it either... she threw a FIT!) but then watched someone else be able to bring on a small pair of crafters scissors. They'd never let me get away with that! hahaha

LOL. I was going to say she wore diapers while going on her woman-hunt. Unless she still thought she was in space and wearing her suit...

If I was a regular patron of that restaurant I would stop going. I like the sentiment behind "standing by the astronauts" but I think this is a little misguided. To do whatever they want? That's possibly crazier than the woman! "Here hon, go by some crack, booze, lotto tickets, a hit man, porn... oh, and why not a loaf of bread while you're out? That would be great! After all, it's not really our money..."

xvart.

You better not see ME on a flight with you. I might try to hijack the plane with a pair of toenail clippers.

And why do women always get pissed when this happens and go after the other woman? I'd go after the man that screwed (or rather wasn't!) me over.

She should have brought some Astro-glide, too. That would have made it ten times funnier.

I completely agree with you here, JLAP. I work with a lot of college students and so many times I have dialogues with female students and they tell me about how they hate such and such female because her boyfriend cheated on her with this other young lady. It makes no sense. The man screwed up, women should hold the men accountable for being losers. Women's rights have come a long way, but they would go much further if women stopped hating on each other. If only our young adolescent females would have better role models and not so influenced by the negativeness of junior high and high school caddy-ness.

Not to mention that it always gets these loser guys off the hook who are doomed to repeat their mistakes since they never lose.

xvart.

edit: By the way, I love the title to this thread! Classic!

Ha! I will be watching every person who sits beside me from now on. When the toenail clippers come out... I am hitting the floor! heheh

I don't know. My first husband cheated on me and I just let him have the woman. Figured Karma would be enough of a lesson and fortunately in my case... it was hehehe. Women are just too emotional and sometimes emotions get in the way of logic.

OMG!!! hahhaha

Come to think of it Lust in Space sounds like an alien porno or something lol.

My mom's first husband (not my dad) was a crackhead and stole from her so she kicked him to the curb lol. Total loser.

I remember when they asked a couple of muslim guys to leave the plane because they started praying in their native language (arabic?). That's total BS. This is xenophobia at it's worst. I love arabic and muslim people. I know I don't have the discipline to pray 5 times a day, that's for sure. Auctually I've never known any personally but If I did I'd like them lol.

I believe they were asked to deplane for a number of reasons such as constantly changing their seats, 1 asked for a seat belt extension when his belt apparently fit fine, and they were overheard making anti-american statements as they boarded the plane. I do not believe praying had anything to do with it.

I make anti-american statements, too. I MUST be a terrorist.

The bottom line is that if these men were WASPs then they would have never been given a second glance.

Obviously making anti-american statements does not make you a terrorist, however, if I overheard you doing that and you were acting suspiciously on a plane I was on, I'd want you thrown off for my potential safety.

when my wife flew to Florida in December she was more than a lil nervous..........she figured she wouldnt have anyproblems between Minot, ND and Minniapolis but the flight south had her nervous till she started loading............turns out there was a John Deere convention or something in Tampa while she was there, her plane was loaded with ND, MN and Iowa farm boys...............she felt much safer......figured those boys wouldnt let anything happen..........she never had a problem getting her carry-on stowed as the farm boys refused to let her do it herself, they got up from their seats so that she could get into hers so she wouldnt have to fumble past them.............she says she was dang sure any terrorist didnt stand a chance

back to the space lady..................

How long does it take an astronaut to drive from Texas to Florida?

Depends :-))

Ya... honestly I would think it is common sense that you would want someone off the plane that was acting suspiciously.

I thought tho that I had heard that they were not making anti american remarks and that it was an over-reaction. As far as changing seats... everyone does that. Especially when there is a large family, or party, on a flight. You always see them changing seats to talk to other members of the family, or party. That wouldn't have been intimidating at all if it wasn't obvious that they were Muslim and speaking in Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, whatever they were speaking.

As far as a seatbelt extention... Mine fits fine also but if I had known they were available i would probably ask for one too! Between the snug belt and the tight seats you can get quite claustrophobic!!! Especially when their idea of leg room is having your knees up to your chest and I am only 6 foot tall!!!!

well, I'm gonna go against the tide here. everyone seems to forget about "innocent until proven guilty". and I'm not saying I think she's innocent, but I think the media may have really blown this out of proportion. former astronaut involved in love triangle driving cross country to murder rival? that's quite a sensational, newspaper-selling story.

I think it's really nice of the diner, frankly. maybe she's guilty, maybe she's not, but she deserves a fair trial. and, let's face it, she's going to need a good lawyer.

The media blow something out of proportion?? NEVER! hahaha (j/k)

She does deserve a fair trial, as does everyone, and it is WONDERFUL that they support their astronauts because they DESERVE to be supported... but... what about the victim here? She deserves to be supported as well and how do you think she feels seeing that people are more sympathetic to the person who, even if her intentions weren't to kill her but scare her as she claims, had intentions of harm (Even if it were to be emotional harm)?

Just MHO

This case just shows to prove that no matter how intelligent or elite a person is, there is always room to fall to our basic natures, and allow them to control us. Before all this came out I heard that the "Father of Gene Therapy" was sentenced to 11 years in jail for molesting a girl. People in such positions are held to higher moral standards, but they are still human.

I also notice in situations where people who have high visibility in society, the victim is usually blamed. That is sad. I also agree with Presto in saying everyone deserves a fair trial.
