Going to Vegas over Memorial Day weekend.

:boogie:

Really going for a wedding (yes, it's a destination wedding in vegas - no one is eloping), but since I've never been, I'm rather excited.

:banana2:

Make sure you eat at the buffet in Excalibur Hotel. It’s on the second floor past McDonald’s, you can’t miss it. Oh yeah, and don’t be surprised if you are offered little porn pamphlets while walking on the street at night (anytime past sundown), even if you're with your family.

I don't know if I'll be anywhere near the Excalibur - staying at the Aladin.

However, I'm leaving the wife & kid at home - she doesn't want to fly when she's 7 months pregnant. Kinda counting on those handouts.... :0o:

dammit schloaty.......................im going to be in Vegas about 3 weeks after that..........change your schedule

Play of few hands of mini-baccarat if you get the chance. It is like betting on a coin toss of heads/tails where heads wins just slightly more, but you pay a SMALL commission to the house when you bet heads. It is one best games where the house does not have huge odds in their favor, unlike roulette.

Las Vegas is so much better than our fairly local Foxwoods.

Vegas is a great town. One of my favorite places is the Luxor. If you go off the strip there is a great hotel called Sams Town and another not too far from there called Arizona Charlies.

Back on the strip, make absolutely sure you see the boat show at Treasure Island. They run it several times per evening but get there early, it tends to be crowded.. especially on holiday weekends.
People flock to the MGM grand but to be honest that place really doesn't do it for me. I really am not much of a gambler and unless there is a major event happening, there is not much to do at the MGM besides gamble.

Its been a few years since I have been there myself so I am sure there is all kinds of cool new stuff to see and do. That is definately not a town where you will be bored.

Oh and about those pamphlets to the adult shows, they will give those to you any time day or night and they will hand them to your wife if they cant reach you first lol. My sister and I walked from the MGM grand all the way to Circuis Circuis one time and all along they way they kept handing those things to her. ???

Have a great time.. and dont get too wasted on the free drinks. hehe

Cheers
Steve

I believe they are fairly close together actually. For sure they are both on the strip.

Have a good trip!

Don't do anything I wouldn't do!

What happens in Vegas...ends up on the forums! :D You'll have to take pics and recount your adventures for those of us who are travel-challenged.

PAK..............the wife and i are flying down and have hotel rooms at the Sahara for ~$650 including airfare and hotel rooms for Wednesday night through Sunday..............

Rattler,

My buddy and I are going to the Alladin (as I mentioned) for $590 a person - Friday night, saturday night and airfare. Best part is the airfare is from our local airport instead of having to drive for a hour. Could have save about 50 or 60 dollars by driving, but the convenience is worth it.

LOL @ PAK. One of these days, I'll have to figure out how to get you on a plane....

Send her a ticket.

Have fun. See if the hotel has comp tickets to any of the shows, they sometimes do especially at the rates they're soaking you for. Schmooze the concierge.

I was there two years ago for a conference. This year the conference was in Seattle. I'd rather go to Seattle.

I know. :( But you see, I have terrible luck (ask any of my friends, they'll confirm that)...and...I think dying in a plane crash is one of the worst ways to die...soooo...with my luck, that would happen to me the first time I ever tried flying.

Maybe one day but I'd have to have someone with me so I don't die alone. lol

If I ever win the lottery...I'm gonna pay to have a TF Convention and fly all the members there. :D

I'll bet both of y'all have a blast! Too bad the dates don't coincide. I'll bet a Rattler/Schloaty pairing would result in some great TF stories. hehe

If you're afraid of dying in a plane crash, travel by train or bus. Maybe dying when one of those crashes isn't so bad. Or just keep driving the car at home because dying in a car crash must be OK. 35,000 Americans a year can't be wrong.

Las Vegas represents the least common denominator of commercial entertainment. Athough it can be interesting for a while, make Las Vegas a jumping off point for visiting the national parks that are nearby -- Zion, Bryce Canyon, and the Grand Canyon -- and enjoy spectacular natural beauty.
