Would this make good water?

I think it might be worth a try. If it produces deionized water like it say, than that is very very pure. I can test the water if you want, and if it's not good enough you could return it.

I looks like an impregnated resin filter. The used to sell squeeze bottles with small version of those so you could de-ionize tap water to use in steam irons rather then having to buy distilled water. It seemed to work okay. I think a lot of steam irons have these built in now so you can use tap water.

The question is how long does it last? They stop working at some point. Some of them you can recharge like water softeners (which are deionizing filters) with salt but then you have to worry about residual salt. Is the cartridge replaceble and how much does that cost?

I'm not sure how long they last but a refill cartridge is $18.
